Rachel O., in her own words:
It is unimaginable how I got this far in my weight-loss and health journey. To put it simply, I found myself 60lbs over weight and unhealthy and incredibly stressed. I have tried so many different styles of healthy living (and failing at them), so, I was skeptical when I watched the BeachBody infomercials. There was mention about a “free coach” and my first thought was “yeah right”.
I can barely remember how I met Coach Leah, but I am pretty sure another community board member pointed me in her direction and said “She knows what she is doing, and she can help you along the way”…did I believe them? Nope. After a quick message or two and an invitation to join a Facebook fitness team (called Team Real Fitness) I began to see how dedicated and serious Coach Leah is about her “group”. After a few months my curiosity was peaked and I messaged Coach Leah about one of her Bootcamps (The July Rider-Teacher Boot Camp). I selected the Piyo program. From day one of Bootcamp I have never felt so included and determined to work on myself. Why? I have finally, FINALLY been given the tools and motivation to do what I need to do (because you don’t know what you don’t know, right!?)—while not being the easiest to join in at first (I tried to explain to Coach Leah that the other participants were A) smaller than me and B)I would be out of place, I am not fit enough for this)–well, she would not hear of it, and very patiently replied with exactly what I needed to hear “You will be fine!”
Thanks to Coach Leah and her bootcamp and fitness groups I have found that motivation and drive that I will need to get me to my goals. My body has completely changed as well as my eating and my outlook on living a fit life. My daughter and husband have proudly watched me change and I couldn’t think of a better “place” for me. Coach Leah has been kind, persistent, motivating, inspiring and TOUGH. I am the kind of person who needs the check-ins and accountability, as well as the encouragement, I need someone to be REAL when it is time to WORK. I can’t thank Coach Leah enough for all of the time she has spent on her group/bootcamps, I know that I would never, ever have been able to finish as strong without her. My transformation has just started but I feel like I am ahead of my own game because of the foundation I have been given.
Thanks Coach Leah, for everything. (And I am also thanking you in advance for what lies ahead—more work!) My body is becoming amazing and I have plenty of hard work ahead, but for some reason, I am just not scared of hard work anymore.
“A coach is someone who tells you what you don’t want to hear, who has you see what you don’t want to see, so you can be who you have always know you could be”.-T.Landry
P.S. Don’t get me wrong here, Coach Leah is NOT FLUFF. She will ride you about your nutrition and she will make you show her labels. There really is no hiding which is, in its own way, a challenge to just make yourself better. Coach Leah is human-not a robot, and not some crazy bootcamp drill sergeant who is a fitness showboater. She will call you out and I can promise that you will not go missing from her herd for long before she tracks you down and makes sure you are doing what you should be to get to where you want to go. It’s not her agenda, it is yours. If you are a program quitter (like me, so many times in the past) Coach Leah will give you a different spin and as many alternatives to make your program work for you—but just remember, if you don’t do the work, then you are as good as your excuses (I learned that really quickly).
