Friesian Fritters.jpg

Here is a HUGE shoutout to my friend and equine cookie connoisseur, Gwen Hilla. Gwen and her husband Dr. Jamie Hilla own Callahan Drive Animal Hospital. The cookie recipe submitted by Gwen is not only a fantastic Clean Eating Equine Cookie Recipes, but it passes the astute taste buds of her equine partner, Particular Pagi. In other words, these healthy treats are stable pleasers!

No need to bake your Friesian Fritters but storing in the refrigerator is recommended.

Make several batches to share at your horse events this season!

Friesian Fritters:

3 ripe mashed bananas
1/3 cup of apple sauce (no sugar added)
2 cups oats
¼ cup coconut/almond milk
½ cup craisins or raisins (I used blueberry infused craisins) (optional)
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
¼-1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes

Do you have a clean eating equine cookie recipe that you would like featured in The Athletic Rider Blog and Newsletter? Please CONTACT ME and I would love to feature your treat in next month’s For The Horse segment!
