Sure, there are those few highly motivated people that will continue a habit of fitness even when facing a challenging day. BUT for the rest of us, installing some safety net of accountability can be the difference between not right now and not ever.
For some people, a friend as an accountability partner can be enough. Another may need to hire a personal trainer. For years I had a personal trainer 3 times a week-not because I needed help with what to do. I knew I needed help with accountability. Funny enough, since becoming a Rider Fitness coach I am even more consistent in my workouts than before because I feel accountable to those riders that I coach.
In other words:
- The knowing what to do won’t create results without creating consistency, and
- Consistency is most reliably created through daily accountability.
