Equestrian Energy Leadership™ Online Course
Class starts Tuesday, April 11th, 8pm EDT
All Classes Recorded.
Energy Leadership™ is the process that develops a personally effective style of leadership that positively influences and changes not only you, those with whom interact, but also your organization as a whole.
Before we explore the rest of what Equestrian Energy Leadership may have to offer you as a horse owner or rider, let’s get a clear definition of the two key underlined terms above.
Leadership: Leadership is how you interact with everyone-including and especially yourself. Leaders are pretty obvious within small and large businesses. Most of us tend to think of leaders as CEO’s, business owners and managers within an organization. Some of us may also think of leadership as it extends into politics and other global affairs. Guess where else you will find the principles of leadership? Everywhere! Parents, teachers, personal trainers, health care providers, entrepreneurs, sports coaches, consultants, mentors, partners in relationships-they are all leaders. Anyone who interacts with people on a regular basis is a leader.
EVERYONE is a leader either by choice or default.
That means YOU the horse owner.
That means YOU the rider.
That means YOU the horse trainer.
That means YOU the riding coach.
If you don’t think of yourself as a leader, then you are limiting yourself in your thinking. Leading is the way we help move those around us (people or horses), including ourselves, into action.
The question is not whether or not we are leaders, but how well we lead.
Organization: Organizations are not limited to business. Organizations also include groups and teams. It’s the people at work and your family at home. It’s your friends at the barn and even your stable of horses. It’s true! This concept of organization can be expanded to include you and your horse! Your organizations include any person, group of people or horses who are within your many circles of influence.
There are 2 Streams. Where Do You Swim ?
A relentlessly damaging and destructive stream is flowing through the equestrian world and the world as a whole. This stream is not created by water, but by fear. It is the Stream of Unconsciousness.
Its constructive counterpart, the Stream of Consciousness, flows through only a few of the world’s businesses, homes, barns and organizations. This stream is fed by creative and positive thinking that produces questions like:
What’s the opportunity here?
How can we make this work?
In contrast, the Stream of Unconsciousness is based on only one question:
This second stream is the one most of us have been trained to see, listen to, drink from and bathe in since birth.
During a typical day, most people spend a great deal of time focusing on what’s wrong. What’s wrong with their family, their jobs, their projects, their co-workers, their relationships, their last horse show, their horses and their lives. Would it surprise you to learn that studies show that more than 50 percent of working people would choose to quit their jobs if they could? It’s true!
What will it take to shift the pressure and negativity that surrounds your work, your home, or your barn? What about the pressure and negativity in your relationships with your trainer, your family or your horse? What will help you become more productive, increasingly content, and have a positive view of your work life, home life, barn life and a positive view about all people with whom you interact every day?
What will it take for you to shift your energy in the saddle and in your life?
It will take a powerful leader who is skilled, highly sophisticated, versatile,
and one who understands the power of energy.
What Are The Two Forces That Create Your World Every Minute of Every Day?
Catabolic and Anabolic Energy:
More than a hundred years ago, Albert Einstein presented the idea that everything we see, hear, taste, touch, and smell is not matter, but energy. Everything that “matters” is energy.
On an energetic and cellular level, catabolism usually refers to a breakdown of complex molecules. Anabolism is the opposite. When you hear about a person’s catabolic or anabolic energy, it’s a broader statement about destructive and constructive forces within an entire person. A person is made up not only of individual cells but also of anabolic and catabolic thoughts and beliefs.
Anabolic and Catabolic energy are predominant in organizations as well as people. Many organizations experience catabolic energy by constantly reacting to their circumstances with worry, fear, doubt, anger, and guilt. Thoughts are contagious. Just one person in an organization with negative thoughts and feelings can cause that negativity to spread faster the strangles virus in a large boarding barn. Once “group think” sets in, group thoughts become “group fact.” Once group fact sets in, the organization can implode energetically in a swirl of gossip, negativity, conflict and contempt.
“Group think” begins with “Leader think”. At its core, an organization strongly reflects how its leader thinks, feels and acts. Remember you and your horse ARE an organization and YOU are the leader!
Anabolic leaders have the ability to motivate and inspire themselves and others to do extraordinary things. Leaders have the ability to make energetic shifts at all levels within the organization. The most successful organizations are those that are filled with powerful, positive, anabolic leaders-and that means everyone in the organization, not just the “ones at the top.” No matter how effective or ineffective you currently are or feel you are, you can transform yourself and others, into a thriving, inspired, positive, productive, and successful organization.
And, thus begins your journey to become the Ideal Leader.
